Team Allen answered back to tie the Patriot Baseball Fall World Series with another one run game by the score of 9-8. A Josh Landers one out double down the left field line proved to be the game winner, scoring two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Team Davis would answer back with a run in the top of the sixth to come within a run, but strong pitching from Adam Gillcrist stymied the Team Davis bats.
Gillcrist pitched 6 solid innings of relief of Team Allen starter, Tim Paxton. Gillcrist allowed 1 run on 2 hits. He K'd 3 and walked only 1. Paxton allowed 7 runs in 3 inningson 9 hits. He had 1 K and 3 base on balls. At the plate, Team Allen was led by Jacob Brown, who went 2-3 with a double, rbi and 3 runs. Jimmy Hoffman went 2-3 with a double, rbi and 2 runs. Josh Landers had 2 knocks and 2 rbi.
Team Davis starter, Morgan Jones, was chased in the first inning. He allowed 3 runs on 5 base on balls and a hit by pitch. Lee Thompson tossed 4 innings in relief, giving up 5 runs on 6 hits. He had 2 K's and a walk. Kyle Leja hurled the final 3.2 innings, surrendering a run on 2 hits. He had 3 punch outs. At the dish, Team Davis was led by Kaleb Henry's 3-5 day with a triple and a run. Daniel Bentley had a 2-3 day with a run, stolen base and rbi. Ryan Mangione had 2 base knocks and a rbi, 2 runs and 2 stolen bases. Adam Blair added an rbi double and Shawn Thompson had a rbi triple and scored a run.
The series is down to a winner take all game tomorrow at 3:00. The losing team will have to put on a talent show for the SCC student body.
