100 MAN CLUB

Dear Patriots Men’s Basketball Fan:

The 2012-2013 basketball season is swiftly approaching and we are anxious to renew your membership or have you join the 100 Man/Woman Club.

The buzz about the St. Catharine College Patriots Men’s Basketball program is hotter than ever and we want you to be there when we turn the heat up. None of our success would be possible without the generous support of the many friends of our program. This Club is a key component in aiding the Men’s Basketball student-athletes to experience valuable opportunities—and you, as a 100 Man/Woman Club member are personally responsible. Your continued encouragement and assistance makes our success possible and serves as a true testament to why St. Catharine College is such a special place.

Gifts for membership in the Club include a Nike brand St. Catharine College Patriots Men’s Basketball polo, free admission to 5 home games, and access to several preseason practices.

The Patriots finished no lower than fourth in the Mid-South Conference—arguably, the best NAIA conference in the country—since the college transitioned from being a junior college to offering bachelor and master’s degrees. The generosity of the 100 Man/Woman Club has allowed us to travel and play some great competition outside our conference, which has had a direct impact on our preparation for conference play. These teams include:

NCAA Division I: Western Carolina University (NC) and Morehead State University (KY);

NCAA Division II: National Champion (2011) Bellarmine University (KY),

University of Southern Indiana, Tusculum College (TN), and Adams State College; and

NAIA Powerhouses: Life University (GA), Mountain State University (WV),

McKendree University (IL), Carroll College (MT), Southern Polytechnic State

University (GA), and Indiana University Southeast (IN).

This exciting 2012-2013 season will see your Patriots travel to NCAA Division I’s University of Southern Mississippi and Morehead State University.

This year’s Patriots are led by returning Travis Wilkins, Marquis Lee, and Kevin Kornegay. Wilkins, a 2nd Team All-Conference player last year, is rated 19th in the country by JTM Top 30 prospects outside of NCAA Division 1 (http://jtmbasketball.blogspot.com/2012/02/top-25-prospects-outside-d1.html). Lee was a valuable member of the 2010-11 NAIA National Tournament competitive team and closed that season with better than 79% FT average, while Kornegay is following up a spectacular freshman season ending with the team’s third highest 3 Point percentage. Key acquisitions for this year’s team are: junior college transfer, Aishon White (Chipola College, FL), prep school transfers William Tolefree and Romeo Lewis (Action Sports Academy, GA), and freshman, Terrance Smotherman.

This season’s goal for your Patriots is to go all the way and our goal for the Club is $10,000. A 100 men and women will be personally invited to join the club. At least a $100 contribution per member is required for membership into the club. The efforts of the 100 Man/Woman Club are significant in establishing St. Catharine College as a recognized national basketball power.

On behalf of my staff, team, and our entire Patriots basketball family, I would like thank you for your valuable, continuous support. We are building something special here in Springfield and we appreciate your being part of it.

See you at our first home game in Lourdes Hall on November 10th at 2pm; as always “Let’s Go Patriots!”

Sincerely,

JT Burton
