The St. Catharine College men’s golf team tied for eighth place in a 12 team field this week in the Don Bishop Invitational hosted by Campbellsville University at the Campbellsville Country Club. The Patriots had a 36 hole total of 623 (321-302).
St. Catharine’s Ronnie Twigg, a freshman from Louisville, Ky., made the all-tournament team with a fourth place finish. Twigg had a 142 (71-71) which was two under-par. Matt Bloom had a 155 (82-73) followed by Nick Patterson’s 160 (85-75), Michael Hardin’s 169 (83-86) and Dylan Riley’s 171 (88-83).
University of the Cumberlands, a Mid-South Conference foe of the Patriots , won the tournament at two over par (578). That was one shot better than Lindsey Wilson, another MSC member and nine shots ahead of Cumberland University (Tenn.) who just joined the conference this year.
The Patriots’ next outing will be in their own tournament which is October 15-16 at Maywood Golf Course in Bardstown.
