FALL BASEBALL JV SEASON ENDS

The St. Catharine Patriot JV Squad finished their fall season with a sweep of Asbury University yesterday.  They finished the fall with a 15-4-1 overall record and won the first ever Fall JV Classic Championship earlier this month.  Freshman Ben Boes (Louisville, KY) led the team with a .460 average.  He also led the squad with 8 doubles, 29 hits and 23 RBI's.  Sophomore Joe Joe Simms (Springfield, KY) led the team with 3 homeruns.  Freshman Lamont Calloway (Louisville, KY) led the team with 14 stolen bases and in runs scored with 23.

"What a great opportunity it is for our young guys, to play so many games in the fall against outside competition," noted Patriot Head Coach Luther Bramblett.  "These guys experienced post-season play with the Fall Classic, had to come from behind to win, lost big and won big, what great lessons they learned this fall.  Not only did they play a fall jv season, they've also played in intrasquad games and a few have played in the varsity scrimmages, which brings the total number of games to over 40 in an eight week window!"

The Patriots will travel to Louisville, KY this Saturday to take on Bellarmine University in their final fall varsity scrimmage of the fall.  Gametime is at 11:00.  Next week will end the fall practice season with the Talent Show Series.  The best of five games series will decide the losing team performing a talent show for the student body.  That series will begin wednesday.
