The St. Catharine College men and women participated in the Berea College Invitational track meet March 23rd. Blake Jones’ women’s team finished seventh in a nine team field with 23.5 points while the men were eighth out of nine teams with 19 points.
“We would have had many more points but were missing five people,” explained Jones.
On the men’s side Kameron Lackey accounted for 10 of the Patriots’ 19 points. He finished second in the shot put and seventh in the discus throw. Troy Mattingly finished third in the decathlon with a personal record of 4917 points. Austin Middleton got the final three points for the men with a sixth place finish in the 10,000 meter run (38:00.05).
The SC women got ten points in the heptathlon when Michelle Dunaway finished third and Lindsey Vinson fourth. Nicole Peterson earned six points with a third place finish in the 400 meter hurdles (1:12.81). Kasie Evans finished fourth in the shot put for five points. Rebecca Just got one point each for eighth place finishes in the high jump and long jump. Samantha Osborne tied for seventh place in the pole vault for ½ point.
The Patriots will travel to Indiana on Saturday to participate in the Hanover College Invitational.
