Courtney Anderson, an outside midfielder from Mercy Academy in Louisville, Kentucky is the latest St. Catharine Women's Soccer signee.
Courtney signed her scholarship contract in a ceremony at Mercy Academy on Thursday. She is the daughter of Alan and Mariah Anderson, has been a mainstay on the Mercy Academy Honor-Roll and is a member of the National Honor Society. Courtney plans to study Nursing at St. Catharine, with the goal of becoming a Registered Nurse.
She played primarily left midfield for Coach Mariah Gratz' Mercy Jaguars team that were District 12 and Region 6 Runners-up in 2010 and won the District 24 and Region 6 Championships in 2012. She was earned All-District 24 recognition and was named to the Male Bulldog Cup All-Tournament Team in 2012. She has also played for Jan Franzen's United 1996 FC team the last several years.
Coach Patton, on hand for the signing, commented, "Courtney has speed and solid technical skill. She will be a great addition to our team and will give us depth at our outside mid position immediately. I am excited that she is joining us!"
