The coaching staff at St. Catharine has announced the signing's of three more players for the 2014 class. The three transfers run the total to 14 for this class.
"We are pleased with the class as a whole," noted Luther Bramblett. "We feel that we filled our needs, brought in athleticism and some quality arms. There will be some quality competition in fall practice, which can only make us better."
John Werner, a right handed pitcher from Mt. San Antiono College. Werner went 2-3 with 3 saves in 34.1 innings last year. He tallied 37 K's in 16 games and opponents batted .246 against him. He had a 3.41 ERA. He is expected to compete for innings as a possible starter and bullpen guy.
Eric Walker, a catcher from Rock Valley College. Walker batted .274 last year with 7 RBI's. He scored 16 runs and had 2 doubles. He will add experience and depth to the catching corp.
Jeremy Barr, a corner infielder/catcher from Splading University. Barr batted .293 with 7 doubles and 1 homerun in 2012. He added 9 RBI's and had a .481 OBP with 14 walks and 7 HBP. Barr will provide depth to the infield and catchers.
The Patriots report back to school this week with fall practice starting soon. The Pat's are coming off of a 37-21 record last year.
