Entering its second full season under the instruction of Lindsey Pfoff, the St. Catharine swimmers looked to put their college on the map.
In just the third event of the day Martha Raley (Lebanon, Ky.) had a strong fourth place showing in the 800 Meter Freestyle race. Finishing just seconds from third place, Raley posted a 12:36.70 as she pulled away from the fifth place finisher. In race five, freshman Keely Taylor (Portsmouth, Ohio) nailed down a third place finish in her first competition for the Patriots. Taylor kept pace with the leaders from Campbellsville, finishing a mere seconds from the top two.
The Patriots broke through to victory when Hannah Spaulding (Springfield, Ky.) dominated the field in the 400 Meter Freestyle. Spaulding was able to get out of the gate quickly, pulling away from her competitors by 30 seconds and maintaining her lead until the end. Spaulding continued her success, winning the 100 Meter breaststroke in close fashion. The race came down to the wire with Spaulding pulling away at the last second to win by four seconds over Campbellsville.
