The St. Catharine “Alley Pats” took to the lanes this weekend as they traveled to Kingpin Lanes (Louisville, Ky.) to compete in the Eighth Annual “Striking Knights.”
The St. Catharine men wasted no time putting the team on the map by topping five NCAA division one institutions handedly. Among those were Indiana University, the University of Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky University, Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, and Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. Led by the hot hand of Billy Lundy (Bardstown, Ky.) and his nine game total score of 1803, which scored him an overall 11th place finish, the Patriots scorched through the competition and nailed down an impressive sixth place finish.
For the women it was Tiffany Webb (Louisville, Ky.) who led the way with her nine game total score of 1601, placing her in the top 10 overall. In addition to Webb, the Patriots solidified two other top 25 finishes with Nicole Denman (Lakemoor, Ill.) in 20th and Emily Zubricky (Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.) coming in at 24. With a team total of 7452 the Patriots defeated bowling powerhouses, including Morehead State University, the University of Louisville, Indiana University, and Northern Kentucky University en route to an eighth place finish.
The “Striking Knights” marks the end of the fall season for the “Alley Pats”, but they will get back to work January 11th as they head for the sunshine state to battle in the “Seminole Classic” hosted by Florida State University.
