WOMEN'S SOCCER ADDS ST. MARY STANDOUT

Patriot Women's Soccer added another player to the 2014 recruiting class.  Madison Bruce, a standout defender from St. Mary High School in Paducah, made it official when she signed her NAIA scholarship contract on Tuesday.

Madison started at sweeper and served as a Captain for Coach Tony Sonnabend's Lady Vikings team that finished 9-5 in 2013.  The Lady Vikings were District 1 runner-up and made it to the Region 1 tournament for the first time in school history last season.  For her performance during the season, Madison was named All District 1 and Honorable Mention All Region 1.

Patriot Coach Patton commented, "Madison is a solid soccer player and is strong academically.  She will represent the team well, on the field and in the classroom.  I look forward to coaching her next fall."

Madison is a member of the National Honor Society and was named Academic All-State last year.  She plans to study Criminal Justice at St. Catharine, with a goal to "start a foundation for my career after I am finished with college."
