The Patriots took the field looking for a win against a Cumberlands JV team that they had tied just a week prior. SCC started off strong and controlled the game for the first 20 minutes of the half. Everything looked like it would go SCC’s way until a Cumberlands cross found an open player on the back side who put it away to open the scoring. With that play, the momentum shifted and Cumberlands pushed on the attack. SCC surrendered 2 more before the half.
SCC came out with purpose in the second half and played much stronger and with more consistency in the second half. It would not be enough, however, as the Patriots surrendered one more goal and couldn’t put any away in the second half. The final score was Cumberlands 4, St. Catharine 0.
