Coach Tim Wolz announced the Men's Soccer 2014 schedule today and as promised the team is in for a challenge.
The team competes in what could questionably be one of the toughest conferences in the NAIA, the Mid-South Conference. The road conference schedule will bring more of a challenge to the young team as they will travel to the University of the Cumberlands, Cumberland University, Pikeville College and Campbellsville University. The nationally ranked Lindsey Wilson College will come to Barber Field on September 30 and Shawnee State will wrap up the season with a match at St Catharine on November 1st.
But the challenge doesn't end with the conference schedule. Coach Wolz has always wanted to give his team the best opportunity to receive national ranking points by playing a tough non-conference schedule and this one doesn't disappoint. The team will travel to St. Louis to face Harris-Stowe State University and to Chicago, Illinois to go head to head with Avila University. Two teams that SCC has never seen before. Asbury College, Point Park (PA), Berea College, and Cincinnati Christian, along with NCAA II Oakland City and Kentucky Wesleyan round out the season.
The team will be very young as 25 new freshmen will join the squad. The new faces are from England, Minnesota, Ohio and Kentucky.
