The St. Catharine Alley Pats hit the road for the “Circle City” for one last tune up before heading to the conference tournament.
The St. Catharine Bowling Patriots had room to relax a bit this weekend in Indianapolis, Indiana, knowing that the results of the “Backhaul Direct Hoosier Classic” would have no bearing on their conference tournament seeding. However, this did not stop the Lady patriots from storming out of the gate quickly; the Patriots struck lighting with a 916 in the first game. Tiffany Webb (Louisville, Ky.) led the way for the Patriots with her 251 in the first game, propelling her to a 193.11 average for the nine games. The Patriots would finish their nine game set with a team total of 7564 and a 39th place finish.
For the men, Craig Cox (Louisville, Ky.) paved the way with a 189.89 tournament average and a total score of 1709. Cox struck gold in the fourth game with a 221 and was able to stay above 200 in three other sets. As a team, the men scored a 40th place finish out of 80 squads with an 8178. The Patriots saw their best game in the ninth, when they broke the 1000 point mark with a 1036.
The Patriots will take to the lanes this weekend for the conference tournament at Ken Bowl in Louisville, Kentucky. Friday’s action will pit individual bowlers against other school’s competitors, whereas the remainder of the weekend will be a team competition.
