Patriot Women's Soccer Coach Paul Patton has announced the 2014 Women's Soccer schedule and it is highlighted by new oppenents and top ranked teams.
St. Catharine competes in the Mid-South Conference, one of the toughest in the NAIA. The road conference schedule will be a huge challenge with rivalry matches against perennially strong teams, Campbellsville University and Georgetown College, as well as a trip to Cumberland University, who finished the 2013 season ranked #8 in the NAIA. In addition, 2012 National Champion and 2013 #3 ranked Lindsey Wilson College will come to Barber Field on September 30 and Shawnee State will wrap up the season at home on November 1st.
Outside the conference, the Patriots will host first time opponents in Penn State University - Beaver and Point Park University, both from Pennsylvania. Other highlights include a trip to Terre Haute, Indiana to play St. Mary of the Woods and a trip to Henderson, Tennessee to defend their 2013 Championship in the Freed Hardeman Labor Day tournament.
The team will have strong core with 11 of the top 14 players returning from a 2013 team that went 13-7 on the season. The 2014 recruiting class is still in the making but includes a strong group of new freshman as well as several transfers to date.
