The Wrestling Patriots grabbed a “two for one” deal with the signing of David and John Hernandez.
The grappling Patriots get excited when the can snag two of the premier wrestlers in the state of Kentucky, but in this case the two wrestlers come as a twin pair. “We scored big with this addition” said Head Coach Spencer Adams. “These two work hard and will make an immediate impact for our program.”
John and David Hernandez hail from Henry Clay High School where they were standouts for Coach Andy Critchfield’s Blue Devils. John made waves early in his career at Henry Clay when he was awarded Rookie of the Year, and proceeded to follow that award with two second place finishes in the state tournament in the 113 pound class. Brother David, was also awarded Rookie of the Year and fell just short of a state title with a second place finish in the 106 pound class. The Hernandez brothers are the sons of Nadia and Patrick Miller and will look to major in business, health, or criminal justice at St. Catharine College.
The Patriots will continue to prowl the state looking for the best talent available and will welcome their new team in August.
