Lindsay Monson, daughter of Ronald and Nancy Monson, has decided to play her junior and senior year at SCC. Lindsay played at Pierz Healy High School in Minnesota where she received All- Conference all three years she was on varsity and All- Section her senior year. She also was named MVP her Junior and Senior year at Pierz Healy High. Continuing on with volleyball she chose to play at Central Lakes College where her brother played basketball 5 years prior. Little did she know the success she would achieve there. Her freshman year she received Northern Division Hitter of the Week four times and named on the Northern Division All-Division Second team.
The Central Lakes Raiders completed their 2012 season one game short of Nationals. Lindsay knew her sophomore year would be all about revenge. Ending her volleyball career 25 and 2 leading the Raiders, she would do just that. Lindsay received Northern Division Hitter of the week 6 times, Named on the Northern Division All-Region team, and Northern Division Player of the Year. Not only did she stop there, she was named MCAC All-State First team, along with being named on the National Tournament All-Tournament Team where her team placed 3rd at Nationals after beating the team in Regions who they lost to the year before. Lindsay was then named First Team All-American for the NJCAA, and was awarded a small trophy from the American Volleyball Club Association (AVCA) for also being named First Team All-American for their club, the only junior college volleyball player on that team. After her successful season at CLC she received many offers to play elsewhere. Finally, coming to a decision in January she committed to play her final years at St. Catharine College. Lindsay states, "When I visited SCC in November, they (the staff and volleyball team of SCC) made me feel so welcome and it felt like being home while still being so far from home. I visited other colleges and still had SCC in the back of my head. I then knew I wanted to be a Patriot and play for Coach McDannold."
