The St. Catharine College Women's Soccer team is proud to announce the signing of Nicole Schowalter from Dayton High School in Dayton, Kentucky. Nicole was the only one of 35 seniors to sign an athletic scholarship at Dayton High School's third annual college signing day.
Nicole was a standout midfielder and forward for Melissa Hawkins' Greendevils team at Dayton where she was a four year starter, earning All-District Honorable Mention all four years and team Most Valuable Player for three years. She also played Outside Midfield for her Kings Soccer Academy team in the spring.
Not only is Nicole a strong soccer player, she is successful in the classroom as well. At Dayton, she was a 2 year member of the A-B Honor Roll and made the Super Honor Roll 1 year. She also won school awards for Spanish, History, and Math during high school. Nicole plans to study Psychology while at St. Catharine with goals of earning a Bachelors Degree and competing at a high level on the soccer pitch.
"Nicole is a great addition to our team," commented Patriot Coach Paul Patton. "She brings skill, speed, and athleticism. She is also a hard worker and I expect she will make an immediate impact on our program. We are excited that she is joining our program!"
