Tuesday, July 17 - Justin Smith, from Radcliff, signed to play soccer with St. Catharine College today. Justin played defender for Coach Joshua Hardin at North Hardin Christian School where, as team captain his senior year, he led his team to the KCAA state championship game. He also earned accolades as the North Hardin Christian Defensive player of the year, 2007 KCAA All-State, and was named best defender for the KCAA tournament in Fall 2007. Justin plans to study Business Administration at St. Catharine.
Patriot Coach Paul Patton recruited Justin after they met at Soccer Premier, where Justin works. Patton said that after they spoke, he followed up and set up a try-out for Justin. "Justin will be a solid addition to our team. He played at a small high school, so he should feel comfortable coming to a small college. I think he will bring a lot to our team, and I hope that he will be able to contribute right away."
