Emily Belt, a Goalkeeper from Paducah, Kentucky is the latest to sign on to play soccer at St. Catharine this fall. Emily played three seasons, starting two at Lone Oak High School. When Lone Oak High School was consolidated into McCracken County High School in fall of 2013, Emily came into a brand new team and earned the starting Goalkeeper position there.
At Lone Oak, Emily won the Coaches Award in 2011, and the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2012. At McCracken County High School, she won the Mustang Spirit Award as a senior and was named All District First Team and All Region First Team. She was also a member of District Champion teams in 2010, 2011, and 2013. In the past seven years, Emily has played Club soccer Kentucky Elite and for the Storm and has been named Most Valuable Player for both teams. She also has two years of participation on the ODP State team.
In addition to her exploits on the soccer field, she has also performed well in the classroom. Emily has been on the Honor Roll all four years of high school. She plans to major in Nursing at St. Catharine, with a goal of becoming a Registered Nurse and earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
McCracken County Girls Soccer Coach, Jeff Hill was present for the signing and commented, "Emily has a been a great competitor and teammate at McCracken, and I am very proud that she has this opportunity."
