Destiny Golden joins Patriot Women's soccer
Destiny Golden became the first signee for the Patriot Women's Soccer team’s 2015 recruiting class on Monday. Destiny signed her NAIA Scholarship with St. Catharine College just before she played a varsity match for Center Grove High School.
Destiny has been playing soccer since she was 5 years old. Starting at Saint Francis Soccer club, she was one of the 3 founding members of the Saint Francis Lady Bluez. During her time there, the team won a State Cup title and was also part of the 3v3 team that won The Summer Nationals title in 2010.
For the last 4 seasons she has played with the Westside United Soccer Club, in the Midwest Regional League. She was a member of the 2012 State Cup Finalist team and the 2014 State Cup Champions. Destiny was selected to start on the ODP State Team and was invited to the Regional Camp for 6 years. In 2012 she was selected to go to Berlin with her ODP team to play in the International Challenge.
As a HS player Destiny started on Varsity at Whiteland High School, where she led the team in assists and goals in 2011. She then moved to Center Grove High School where she was named best newcomer in 2012. In 2013 she garnered All District honors and was voted 3rd team All State while her team reached the Indiana State Final Four.
"I am excited that Destiny has decided to join our program at St. Catharine," noted Patriot Coach, Paul Patton. "She is a solid defender with good technical ability and speed. I hope to see her become a mainstay in our defense over the next several years."
