The men's soccer team traveled to Owensboro, Kentucky to face Brescia University and came back with their 11th win of the season.
Freshman Max Bristow lead the team scoring 3 in the team's 5-1 win on Thursday night. The team continues to play well when it counts and is headed into the last two matches of the year really playing good soccer.
Ashley Woods continued his scoring streak as he finished a cross from Marvin Wesselburg to give the Patriots the start it was looking for. Wesselburg also assisted a short time later as he sent his corner kick into the box where Joe Jessop got up over the defense and headed the ball into the back of the net. Bristow then finished the next three including an incredible overhead kick on a ball beautifully sent in by Brad Wilson. Wilson also assisted on one of Bristow's other goals with Woods and Wesselburg getting the other assists. Brescia scored their only goal late in the game to make the final score 5-1.
The Patriots have their final regular season home match this Saturday against Shawnee State, when they will celebrate the careers of four seniors, CJ Powell, Kevin Owens, Justin Mills, and Ashley Woods. This will also give the team the opportunity to finish tied for second in the Mid-South Conference. Kick-off is at 4:00 pm.. The senior celebration will be in between the two games.
