WOODS MAKES IT A TRIFECTA

For the third time this season Ashley Woods was named the Mid-South Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

The Manchester, England, senior forward recorded a nine point week with four goals and an assist. In his first game of the week, Woods netted a hat trick and an assist in the Patriots’ 4-1 win against Harris-Stowe State (Mo.). The hat trick was his second of the season. He recorded his fourth multi-goal game of the season against Shawnee State (Ohio). Then in the Mid-South Conference Tournament Quarterfinals, Woods recorded his eighth game winning goal of the season in the Patriots’ 2-0 win against Shawnee State.

Woods now leads not only the conference, but also the NAIA with eight game winning goals on the season. His 44 points on the season are good enough for a tie for first in the MSC and seventh in the nation. Woods ranks eighth in the nation with 19 goals on the season.

Woods has been a vital part in the Patriots’ six game winning streak where he has scored a goal in each game. The Patriots will look to stay hot in the Mid-South Conference Tournament Semifinals when they face Cumberland (Tenn.) on Thursday at Campbellsville’s (Ky.) Finley Stadium at approximately 8 PM.
