The Patriot volleyball squad is now well into the offseason and head coach Jason McDannold is hot on the recruiting trail.

McDannold recently received his fourth commitment for the 2015 class. Rebecca Cloutier, a senior from South Oldham High School, recently signed on to join the Patriot volleyball program.

Rebecca began her volleyball career in the sixth grade when she played for the South Oldham Middle School team. In the eighth grade she helped lead her team to the All-Conference Tournament Championship, where she was named to the All-tournament team. Cloutier then moved on to the high school ranks at South Oldham. While playing volleyball in high school, Cloutier plays for Union, a club volleyball team in Louisville, Ky. for five years.

She has played under Coach Amy Grimm at South Oldham High School for four years. Grimm remarked, “Becca has always given 110% of herself to the game and refuses to give up when faced with adversity.”

Cloutier says, “I look forward to continuing my growth as a player and person at St. Catharine College in the fall of 2015. I am very excited to be joining the Patriots.” She also added, “I’m looking forward to working with Coach McDannold and the rest of the team next year. I’m excited to be a part of a team with the same values I have and show my love for the game.”

Cloutier says she plans on majoring in elementary education and a minor in coaching when she begins her freshman year in the fall of 2015.
