With bitterly cold temperatures forecasted and potential for snow, the home opening weekend series with Cardinal Stritch University has been cancelled. The Patriots (2-3) will now travel back to Alabama for a double header at Talladega College on Saturday.
"We need to continue to play," commented Luther Bramblett. "It's always tough this time of the year battling the weather - it was 50 yesterday and now it's in the 20's and the forecast for this weekend is definitely not baseball weather."
The Patriots will go to Talladega College, who is receiving votes in the NAIA poll, on Saturday. The Tornadoes (2-6) have played a tough schedule and this will be their home opener. "They really swing the bats. They've played some great teams and this will be another great test for our guys."
The Patriot home opener will now be on the 20th against Calumet College of St. Joseph.
