Kaitlyn Watkins, a standout defender for Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis, is the latest recruit to sign on with the Patriot Women's Soccer team for Fall 2015.
Kaity signed while surrounded by family, friends, teammates, and coaches at Lawrence North after school on Wednesday. Patriot Coach Paul Patton, present for the signing noted, "I am excited to sign Kaity. She is a strong defender with experience playing for strong high school and club teams. We will have two starting senior defenders graduate next season, so it was important for us to bring in several strong defenders this fall. Kaity will be one of the players to fill that need."
Kaity played Central and Outside Defender for Coach Kelly DeCrane at Lawrence North. During her career, she played all four years on the Varsity team, was named Defensive Most Valuable Player, earned the All-Team Award, and was a Team Captain her Junior and Senior years. In addition to her high school team, Kaity also plays Central Defender for the U-18 Dynamo FC team Coached by Abbie Kaul.
Kaity has also earned recognition as a member of Quill and Scroll, the international honor society for high school journalists. While at St. Catharine, Kaity plans to study Criminal Justice with a goal for becoming a criminologist.
