WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD IN ACTION AT LINDSEY WILSON

Results     

     The Patriots Outdoor Track & Field Women’s team was in action last weekend when they traveled to Columbia, Ky. to compete in the Lindsey Wilson College Invitational.

    Nicole Schowalter (Dayton, Ky.) led the Patriot women with a fourth place finish out of 13 competitors in the 1500 meter run. Schowalter finished with a time of 5:35.42. She also competed in the 800 meter run, where she finished with a time of 2:46.38. Schowalter’s time was good enough for a 10th place finish in the event.

Kelsey Hayden (Louisville, Ky.), like Schowalter was also in action in the 1500 meter run and the 800 meter run. She finished the 1500 meter run with a time of 6:12.61 and the 800 meter run with a time 3:07.85.

    Brooke Estes (Greensburg, Ky.) led the sprinters with a 10th place finish in the 400 meter dash. Estes finished with a time of 1:12.34. The winner in the 400 meter dash finished with a time of 1:00.24.

    Estes wasn’t the only Patriot sprinter in action, Libby Welch (Winchester, Ky.) competed in the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash. Welch finished the 100 meter dash with a time of 15.78, just three seconds behind the winner with a time of 12.55. She finished the 200 meter dash in 34.32 seconds.

     Rebecca Just (Louisville, Ky.) was also in action in the 200 meter dash finishing with a time of 31.27. Just also competed in the women’s high jump, where she finished in fourth place. Just cleared 1.42 meters (4’ 7.91”). Her distance was less than a meter behind the leader with a distance 1.52 meters (4’ 11.84”). Just also had a strong showing in the shot put, finishing with a distance of 7.22 meters (23’ 8.26”).

     Brooke Gee (Ashland, Ky.) was the only other Patriot thrower in action on the women’s side. Gee finished the shot put in eighth place with a distance of 9.46 meters (31’ .44”). She then competed in the javelin throw where she finished in fifth place with a distance of 28.20 meters (92’ 6.24”).

  The Patriot women will return to action this weekend when they travel to Danville, Ky. to compete in the Centre College Invitational.
