The Patriots (23-9) finally got to play this week after all the rain and beat visiting Brescia University (12-24) 11-4 behind a 17 hit offensive attack. Originally scheduled for a DH on Tuesday, both coaches found a way to beat mother nature for a few hours today.
Conner Lindsay (Nicholasville, KY) started and went 4 innings. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits, walking 3 and punching out 3. Nathan Getzin (Louisville, KY) tossed the next 4 innings, allowing a unearned run on 2 hits with 3 K's and picking up the win to move to (3-0) on the year. James Davenport (Louisville, KY) pitched the final frame, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits, a HBP and wild pitch.
Santiago Arce (Chula Vista, CA) led the Patriots going 4-5 with 3 RBI's, 3 doubles and scoring a run. Francisco Gonzalez (San Diego, CA) went 3-3 with a triple and a run. Josh Wenning (Palmyra, IN) went 2-4 with a run and RBI and Drew Kissel (Jeffersonville, IN) went 2-4 with a RBI. Alfredo Bohorquez (Maracaibo, Venezuela) went 2-3 with 2 runs, a RBI and 4 stolen bases. Harold Diaz added a RBI double and scored a run and Cody Kollenberg (PeeWee Valley, KY) had a 2-RBI base knock.
The Patriots are back in action this Saturday when they travel to the University of Pikeville for a MSC series.
