Bethany Massey, a standout attacker from Oldham County High School, signed an NAIA scholarship contract with the St. Catharine Patriots today. The signing makes it official, Massey will be playing her collegiate soccer at St. Catharine College.
Bethany had a distinguished career at Oldham County, playing both forward and midfield for Coach Dan Schulz. During her tenure, Bethany was named to the All 29th District team as well as the All 8th Region team. As a junior, she was a part of the best season in Lady Colonels history, as the team made it to the State Tournament Semi-Finals. As a senior, Bethany was named to the All-State team. In addition to her high school team, Bethany played for Coach Tim Nowak with the Kentucky Fire Juniors Club in the Midwest Regional League.
"Bethany has continued to progress over the four years of high school," commented Coach Schulz. "She utilizes her speed with surprising strength to create opportunities for herself. She is a strong leader and has deep passion to achieve her goals. She will be a great addition to St. Catharine. I am proud to say she played for Oldham County."
Bethany is not only strong on the field, she is strong in the classroom. She maintains a high GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society. She is currently undecided on a college major.
