Columbia, Ky. – Seniors Rebecca Just and Jordan Strickland were two out of the three players that were named Mid-South Conference Volleyball Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
Rebecca Just, a senior outside hitter from Louisville, Ky., was named Mid-South Conference Volleyball Attacker of the Week. The weekly honor is the first of Just’s career.
Just averaged 4.2 kills and 2.8 digs per set last week helping St. Catharine (7-3) to a perfect 6-0 record. She concluded the week with a .306 attacking percentage. Just recorded three double-doubles during the week, including 18 kills and 15 digs in a 3-2 over Asbury (Ky.). She posted double-digit kills in five of her six matches, including 23 in a 3-1 win over Grace (Ind.).
Jordan Strickland, a senior setter from Lexington, Ky., was tabbed as the Mid-South Conference Volleyball Setter of the Week. This is the first weekly honor of the season for Strickland and the third of her career.
Strickland averaged 9.4 assists per set in the Patriots’ six wins last week. In St. Catharine’s 3-2 win over Asbury, she finished with a season-high 55 assists. The 55 assists is the most in the Mid-South this season. She posted a pair of double-doubles, including 14 digs in the win over Asbury. She also had 42 assists and 19 digs in the 3-1 win over Grace.
The Patriots will return to action this Thursday when they head to Georgetown (Ky.) to battle the 11th ranked Tigers.
