Saturday, October 3 - The SCC Men's Soccer team went on the road against Johnson Bible College in Knoxville, Tennessee today. The Patriots took an early lead when Sheldon Lucas punched in a shot from a crowded area near the JBC goal. The play was pretty even from that point on through halftime.
With a 1-0 lead coming out of the break, the Patriots were looking to extend the lead and control play throughout the second half. Despite a couple of excellent chances, the Patriots were unable to score until Sheldon Lucas picked off a pass from the JBC goalkeeper and shot it over his head and into the goal with 35 minutes left to play. SCC had several more chances, but were stymied on their remaining chances, and the game ended in at 2-0 SCC victory.
The Patriots now hold a 6-3 record halfway through the season. They will host NAIA #9 University of Rio Grande at home on Tuesday.
