Former Patriot hurler, Steven Borkowski, was named the top prospect in the Golden State Collegiate Baseball League by Perfect Game. Borkowski played for Top Speed in San Francisco, Calif. Perfect Game is considered the number one scouting service used by Major League Baseball and college baseball programs across the country.
Borkowski parlayed the great summer into a free agent deal with the Atlanta Braves. For Top Speed, he tossed in 9 games, with a 0.21 ERA. In 42.2 innings, he punched out 46 hitters and issued just 12 base on balls, while allowing just 23 base hits. His record was 5-1.
For the Braves, he logged a 3-1 record in 20 innings. He had a 9.00 ERA and only allowed 6 walks.
Borkowski is back on campus working with the Patriot pitchers while completing his degree.
