Georgetown, Ky. – Senior golfer, Michael Hardin, is one back after the opening round of the Bluegrass Mid-South Classic at Cherry Blossom Golf Course in Georgetown, Ky.
The Bloomfield, Ky. native is currently in a tie for fifth place after shooting a 76 in the opening 18 holes. Hardin will begin the second round just one shot behind the leader, where four players sit atop the leaderboard after a 75 in the first round.
Michael Vuick (Taylorsville, Ky.) also had a strong performance after round one. Vuick finished just one shot back of Hardin’s 76, after shooting a 77. Vuick’s 77 is good enough to put him in a tie for eighth place.
Will Broady (Greensville, Ky.) and Cole Ballard (Bardstown, Ky.) both finished with a solid first round of play at the Bluegrass Mid-South Classic. Broady and Ballard both finished with a 79 in the opening round. Both are currently in a tie for 12th place.
Freshman, Brandon Cambron (Louisville, Ky.) had a solid 18 holes in his first round of collegiate golf. Cambron, like Broady and Ballard, finished the first round with a 79 to join his teammates in a tie for 12th place.
As a team the Patriots are in third place after shooting a 311 in the first round. They trail Georgetown (Ky.) by six shots and Pikeville (Ky.) by 10 strokes after the opening 18 holes.
The “Clubbing Patriots” will be back on the course tomorrow to wrap up the Bluegrass Mid-South Classic.
