The Women's Soccer Reserves played a home and home series with Campbellsville University over the past week. After 2 hard fought matches the they came away with a split.
In the first match on Wednesday, August 16 at Campbellsville, the host Tigers got the best of the Patriots. The Tigers scored one goal in the first half and then put 2 in during the second half to come away with the 3-0 victory.
In the rematch at St. Catharine on Monday, the Patriots evened up the series with a 2-1 victory. Despite Campbellsville scoring first on a shot that was deflected by a Patriot defender into the goal, St. Catharine came back to even the score before the half ended. A goal by Libby Welch off a pass from Michaela Sebastian knotted the game a 1 apiece.
In the second half the Sebastian to Welch combination worked again as Libby Welch score the game winner with 27 minutes to play. St. Catharine made the lead hold up through regulation and got the 2-1 victory. The Reserve Squad will be in action again on Wednesday, August 23 at Lindsey Wilson College at 6pm Eastern Time.
