The Patriot took on #20 ranked Mt. Vernon Nazarene yesterday and it was a tough day all around.
The Cougars from Mt. Vernon Nazarene were too much for the Patriots and showed it throughout the contest as they scored 4 goals in the first half. Several adjustments at halftime benefitted the Patriots who were able to put several shots on goal and got much more pressure on the Cougar defense in the second half.
Unfortunately, starting center midfielder Sara Herbert went down with what would end up being a season ending knee injury and starting central defender Destiny Golden left the game with a concussion. Shorthanded, the Patriots gave up 2 more goals and the game ended with a 6-0 score in favor of MVNU.
The Patriots will try to get well this week and will take on Faulkner University next Saturday (September 26) at the Barber Soccer Complex.
