The Patriot Women's Soccer team went on the road to face top ranked Lindsey Wilson College on Wednesday. The trip was one that the Patriots would just as soon forget as they dropped the game by a 1-10 score. The bright spot of the match was that the Patriots managed 5 shots on goal and Kindsay Miller-Riney can through with a goal early in the second half.
In a strange quirk of the schedule, the Patriot Reserves hosted Lindsey Wilson College at St. Catharine the very next day. After a 1-1 tie in an earlier match in Columbia, the Patriots expected a hard fought match.
Lindsey Wilson scored first but St. Catharine answered right back when Mary Ezaizat scored off a cross from Michaela Sebastian less than a minute later to tie the match at 1-1 going into halftime. The second half saw mostly even play throughout, but Lindsey Wilson was able to score after collecting a short clearance and again late in the game on a lofted shot that dropped in over Patriot 'keeper Katie Wibbels. The final score was St. Catharine 1, Lindsey Wilson 4.
The Patriot 1st team will be in action again on Saturday, October 10 at 2pm when they host Oakland City University. The Reserves will be in action on Tuesday, the 14th when they travel to ECTC for a 7pm kickoff.
