TEAM GOLD TAKES THE OPENER IN FALL SERIES

Behind strong pitching and timely hitting Team Gold won the opener of the Fall Talent Show Series, 3-2 over Team Black.

Marcos Martinez (Pico Rivera, Calif.) tossed 4.2 innings, allowing a unearned run on 2 hits to pick up the win. Austin Willis-Greene (Manhattan, NY) picked up the save, tossing the final 2.1 innings. He allowed a run on 3 hits.

Santiago Arce (Chula Vista, Calif.) paced Team Gold with a 2 double game, scoring a run and knocking one in. Oscar Heredia (Tao Baja, PR) went 2-3 with a double. Drew Kissel (Jeffersonville, Ind.) and Cody Houk (Campbellsville, KY) both added doubles.

For Team Black, Hunter Barnes (Nicholasville, KY) started and went 4.1 innings. He allowed 3 runs, just 1 earned. Nathan Patterson (Crestwood, KY) hurled 2 innings of shutout ball and James Davenport (Louisville, KY) got a bases loaded double play to end the top of the 7th inning.

Hector Quinones (Barceloneta, PR) led Team Black going 2-4 with a run. Will Broady (Greenville, KY) and Chance Bodine (Bardstown, KY) added base knocks.

Both teams are back at it Sunday in game two starting at 4:15.
