Friday, October 30 - The St. Catharine College Men's Soccer team hosted to Mid South Conference rival Pikeville College today. The match was played at Mercer County High School in nearby Harrodsburg, Kentucky due to poor playing conditions at Barber Field on the SCC campus.
SCC was looking for their first Mid South Conference victory of the season, but it wouldn't be easy. SCC played strong in the first half, and got on the scoreboard first with a goal from Isaac Blanford off passes from Austin Kaczanowski and Patrick Williams. However, SCC would give up a goal late to enter the half with the score tied at 1.
SCC came out strong in the second half, and controlled the tempo of the game. Pikeville stood strong, and denied SCC's attempts to score in the early going. Finally, with 19 minutes to go, Patrick Williams put away the game winner for SCC off a pass from Isaac Blanford to give SCC their first conference win of 2009.
