Bowling Green, Ky. – St. Catharine defender Ross Brown was named to the Second Team All-Mid-South Conference on Wednesday night at the conference’s annual banquet at the National Corvette Museum.
The Grimsby, England native earns his second all-conference award of his Patriot career. The sophomore was named to the First Team All-MSC following his freshman season in 2014.
Although listed as a defender, Brown has also been known to find his name in the scoring column. In 2014, Brown tallied one goal. He followed that up with four goals in his sophomore season.
Head Coach of the St. Catharine men’s soccer team, Tim Wolz, had this to say about his player’s achievement, “I am really happy and proud Ross. There is no doubt that he is deserving of this award.”
Wolz continued saying, “I have had coaches comment all year about how hard it was to play behind him. I have also notice that some strikers have struggled to get past him as well. He is a great kid with a lot of talent that still has a lot of potential.”
Brown and his teammates will return to the pitch tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. ET when they take on Cumberlands (Ky.) in the quarterfinals of the Mid-South Conference Tournament at Lovers Lane Soccer Complex in Bowling Green, Ky.
