PATRIOT BASEBALL IN NAIA PRE-SEASON POLL

In fifty-three days the St. Catharine College Baseball squad will open spring practice on Edelen-Haydon Field in preparation of the 2016 season. And for the first time since going NAIA in 2009, these Patriots are going into the season ranked #30 in the NAIA pre-season coaches poll, just outside the top 25.

"It's a great honor for our program," noted Bat Pat Skipper Luther Bramblett. "Most of these polls reflect what happened last year, but with that said - it's nice to be recognized for the direction our program has been heading. I feel like our team is better and our conference as a whole is better. It should be a fun year with the schedule we're playing and the overall strength of our conference."

The Patriots ended last year #29 in the final poll after qualifying for the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in school history and finished with a 38-17 record. The Pats finished 2nd in the Mid-South Conference regular season and lost in the championship game of the conference tournament.

MSC Tournament champs Lindsey Wilson College is 7th in the poll and last years regular season champion Campbellsville University is 19th. The Patriots will play 14 games against teams that are ranked or receiving votes in the pre-season poll.

St. Catharine opens up 2016 at the University of Mobile on February 5th.
