Monday, October 2 - The St. Catharine College Soccer team hosted Mid South Conference opponent University of the Cumberlands today. The match was played at Mercer County High School in nearby Harrodsburg, Kentucky due to poor playing conditions at Barber Field on the SCC campus.
Last season Cumberlands defeated SCC 9-0 in the Conference match and the Patriots were driven to improve on that result. UC came out strong in the first half, scoring two goals in the early going to take command of the match. SCC would battle back and cut the lead in half when senior David Barret scored off a pass from fellow senior Will Meza.
In the second half, UC controled much of the action, with SCC getting opportunities on counter-attacks. Cumberlands scored two more goals in the second half to win the game 4-1.
