St. Catharine, Ky. – St. Catharine Volleyball seniors, Jordan Strickland and Rebecca Just were named to the AVCA Southeast All-Region First Team. The award was released by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
This is the second year in a row that Strickland and Just were named to the list. As juniors, the duo was the also named Southeast All-Region First Team. The two helped lead the Patriots to a 27-12 record overall this season.
Rebecca Just led the Patriot offense with 494 kills on the season. The Louisville, Ky. native posted 3.61 kills per set and a hitting clip of .293. The outside hitter also played in the back row as a defensive specialist where she collected 459 digs, which ranks second on the team.
In her senior campaign she tallied new career highs in kills, kills per set and in hitting percentage. Just was one of four players to appear in every set this year.
Jordan Strickland guided the Patriot offense with 1,236 assists. On offense, Strickland finished with 89 kills and a .338 attacking percentage. The Lexington, Ky. native also tallied 349 digs on the season, which is third best on the team. Strickland was a force at the net finishing with 51 blocks on the season.
For their efforts in the senior year, the duo was named to the First Team All-Conference.
