MEN'S SOCCER HONORS FIRST EVER SENIOR CLASS
Wednesday, November 4 - Today, at the home match versus Georgetown, the Men's Soccer team honored it's first ever senior class. This group of seniors came to St. Catharine while we were still competing in the Junior College ranks, and stayed through the transition to NAIA. They will always be remember as the first Senior Class.

David Barrett #3 Forward Business Major Burgin, KY
David has played goalkeeper, midfield, and forward during his time on the SCC Soccer Team. He just got married this last May to the love of his life, Jesse Barrett. He is the proud son of great parents, Christine Barrett and Harvey Coontz. His favorite memory of SCC Soccer is the team this year because of the tremendous improvement from his freshman year. David is excited about the team’s future. He says he would not trade this team or his time here for any other, and to everyone he says, “Thanks for everything!”
Jonathan Foster #11 Mid / Def Business Major Lexington, KY
Jonathan has twice earned Academic All Mid-South Conference recognition and was named to the Southern State Shootout All-Tournament team in 2007 and 2008. He has played several different positions during his SCC Soccer Career, including sweeper, defender, and midfield. His favorite memory of St. Catharine Soccer was winning the Southern State Shootout in 2008 and being named to the All-Tournament team.
Jacob Heil #41 Def / Mid Nursing Major Cox’s Creek, KY
While at St. Catharine Jacob has been named Resident Student of the Year, has won the SCC Music Award, and was voted Captain of the Soccer Team by his teammates in 2009. Jacob will be getting married in June, 2010. His favorite memories of SCC Soccer are the start of pre-season and watching how everyone changes, the 2008 Southern State Shootout road-trip, team bonding movie nights, techno shirtless van rides, competing against some of the best teams in the country, celebrating his first and last college goal with his teammates, those times in practice and in games when we play better as a team than we could as individuals, and finally the memory still to come when SCC Soccer wins the Conference Championship sometime in the future. He says, “I’ll always rep our college and remember I’m a Patriot whenever I play the Beautiful Game anywhere in the world!”
Will Meza #6 Def / Mid Criminal Justice Major Los Angeles, CA
Will learned about the SCC Soccer Program from a poster in Mockingbird Soccer Club. He was originally recruited as a Goalkeeper and spent some time between the pipes his freshman campaign. He has been named to the Southern State Shootout All-Tournament Team, been named Honorable Mention All Mid-South Conference, and was voted Most Valuable Player of the SCC Soccer team by his teammates in 2006 and 2007. His favorite memories of St. Catharine Soccer are his first college game, scoring the winning goal against Hanover this year, playing nationally ranked teams, traveling to away games, and having the chance to play alongside not only teammates, but friends. He says, “It has been an honor playing with this great group of guys every year. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end.”
