Game 1: St. Catharine 0, Lindsey Wilson 3
The Blue Raiders scored a run in the fourth and added two insurance runs in the sixth to seal the 3-0 win. Tiffany Wickline (Georgetown, Ky.) pitched well, but couldn’t get any run support. Wickline (10-11) allowed three runs – one earned – on six hits in six innings of work.
The Patriots had a chance in the first inning when Emily Fenwick (Lebanon, Ky.) reached on a fielder’s choice and Miranda Whelan (Ramsey, Ind.) singled putting two on and one out. Lindsey Wilson starter, Casey Bryan, however, worked her way out of the jam unharmed.
Bryan (14-6) tossed the complete game shutout allowing six Patriot hits, while issuing one free pass. Bryan also struck out six Patriot batters.
St. Catharine presented another threat in the sixth inning. Miranda Whelan reached on a one-out walk and two batters later, Tiffany Wickline legged out an infield single. But once again, Bryan worked her way out of the jam with a ground out.
Lindsey Wilson added two runs in the sixth inning and Bryan closed the door in the seventh for the win. Taylor Lewis (Spring, Texas) led the way at the plate going 2-for-4, while four other Patriots tallied one hit each.
Game 2: St. Catharine 2, Lindsey Wilson 7
