Bowling Green, Ky. -- The St. Catharine men’s golf concluded the Mid-South Conference Men’s Golf Championships today at Bowling Green Country Club.
The Patriots turned in a seventh place finish at the MSC Championships after finishing with three day total of 929. In the final round, the Patriots tuned in a 316. Cumberlands (Ky.) won the event after finishing at 7-under 857 for the tournament.
Cole Ballard (Bardstown, Ky.) turned in the best finish among the Patriots coming in 16th place out of 45 golfers. Ballard came out in the third round and carded a 5-over 77. His best performance came in the first round where she shot a 2-over 74.
Senior, Michael Hardin (Bloomfield, Ky.) was the next in line for St. Catharine. Hardin came eight shots behind Ballard with a three day total of 234. Hardin came out and shot a 7-over 79 in the third round with his best round coming on Tuesday where she shot a 2-over 74.
Gran Hayes (Lawrenceburg, Ky.) and Aaron Spalding (Springfield, Ky.) rounded out the scoring for the Patriots. Both Hayes and Spalding shot two rounds at 80 and the other round at 77 to finish in a dead tie at 237 for the tournament.
Logan Medley (Lebanon, Ky.) and Michael Vuick (Taylorsville, Ky.) were also in action on Wednesday. Medley finished with a total score of 238, while Vuick – who competed as an individual – carded a three day total of 246.
Joan Rizer will now turn her attention to the offseason where she will look to replace, Aaron Spalding, Michael Hardin and Michael Vuick, who will also be graduating next month.
