South Laurel starting defender, Alexandria Davenport, picked her college today when she officially signed on with St. Catharine for soccer. Alex, flanked by her parents, signed in a ceremony at South Laurel High School this afternoon.
Davenport, a three year player at South Laurel was a member of the team for two 49th District Championships, two 13th Region Championships, and two trips to the State Tournament, including an Elite Eight run in 2012. She won the team "Best Sportsmanship" award in 2013 and won the Governors Cup in 2013 with her club team, the Madison Flyers.
"Alex is a solid defender with a lot of upside," noted Patriot Coach, Paul Patton. "We saw her play her senior year and then had her out for a training session on her campus visit. She will be a good fit for our team and I look forward to seeing how she develops in the college game."
Alex plans on studying Criminal Justice at St. Catharine.
