On Thursday, September 20th, the Lady Patriots took on Spalding University at home. As expecte, the match was tight and hard fought throughtout. SCC gave up a goal off a corner kick in the 28th minute and trailed at halftime 1-0.
The second half was similar as SCC tried to mount a comeback, but couldn’t finish any of their chances. In the 54th minute, Spalding successfully connected on a through pass and Lesley Bormann put away the goal for a 2-0 Spalding lead. Later, Spalding capped off the scoring with a shot from outside that found the net for a 3-0 final score that belied how close the match really was.
The Lady Patriots drop to 3-4-0 on the season and play again Friday, September 21, at 4pm against University of the Cumberlands at home.
