Friday, March 13 - Flanked by her parents, Coach Peter Underwood, teammates, and several classmates, Cheyenne Hess of Hurricane, West Virginia signed to play soccer for the St. Catharine College Patriots in a ceremony at Hurricane High School today. "I'm excited to be joining the St. Catharine College soccer team!" beamed Hess. Cheyenne plans to study nursing at St. Catharine.

Peter Underwood, who coached Hess in club soccer noted, "Cheyenne made a big impact on our West Virginia Soccer Club U-18 Rowdies team. Playing as an attacking central midfielder, she netted several goals and led the team in assists in 2008. She also won the 'Goal of the Season' award in both 2007 and 2008."

Patriot Coach Paul Patton, on hand for the ceremony stated, "Cheyenne is the first player I have ever signed from West Virginia. I'm excited about that, and excited that she is joining our squad. She will be a solid player for us, I have no doubt. Cheyenne could make an impact right away, with 3 midfielders from last season gone, the opportunity is there. I am sure she will make the most of it. One of the things I liked about her play is that she competes hard and wants to win more than anything."
