Thursday, April 23 - Mercer County girls soccer standout, Caitlin Campbell, signed an NAIA letter of intent with St. Catharine College today. Campbell, who played soccer and ran track at Mercer County High School, played striker for Coach Stacy Herron. She led the Mercer girls soccer team in scoring as a junior, was named best offensive player as a senior, and earned All District and 2nd Team All Region Honors as a senior.
Caitlin commented on her signing, stating "I am going to St. Catharine to play soccer. I am excited to play and I am ready to challenge and better myself in collegiate soccer." Caitlin has also won numerous awards in her track career, including competing in the State Championships in 2007 and 2008. She is also the captain of the Mercer County High School track team this spring. She plans to study Radiography at St. Catharine.
