Tuesday, September 29 - The Patriots Women's Soccer team went on the road at Xavier University to play against Cincinnati Christian University today. The game was exciting and well played by both teams through the first half. Neither team was able to capitalize on their chances, and the halftime score was knotted at 0-0.
The second half unfolded much the same until the referee called a foul on SCC that resulted in a CCU Penalty Kick. CCU converted to go up 2-0 with 12 minutes to play. Another foul call resulted in a free kick from 24 yards that CCU scored to make the score 2-0 with 6 minutes to play. The Patriots threatened, but did not score to cut the deficit, and the final score was CCU 2 - SCC 0. The Patriots are now 4-3-1 on the season and will play at home next Tuesday against University of Rio Grande in the second conference game of the season.
