Thursday, October 8 - Krista Russell scored two goals in the first 3 minutes of the game to lead the St. Catharine Patriots women's soccer team over host Berea tonight. Monica Milesky and Cheyenne Hess each fed Russell with passes through the defense that led to the early scores. In the first half, Krista would also score a third goal to finish off the hat trick from a pass by Natalie Hurst. Shortly before the half, Russell had another opportunity to score, but caromed the ball off the crossbar. The Patriots led 3-0 at the half.
As the game went on, Berea fought hard to come back, but were unable to score as Lee Ann Walker and Lauren Casher split time in the goal but combined for 12 saves and the shutout. Monica Milesky picked up a ball from Amy Wurfel midway through the second half and dribbled into the box for a shot and the fourth SCC goal of the night. The game ended with the final score of SCC 4 - Berea 0. The Lady Patriots record now stands at 6-3-1, the best record through 10 games since 2003.
